Description:
This role is responsible for maintaining financial records and assisting with general day to day accounting tasks for the company and related entities. They are primarily responsible for computing, classifying, and recording expenditures and revenue data to maintain accounting records. This role will also provide financial accounting support and prepare reports for other departments within the company. General duties include bookkeeping, billing, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Additional duties may include assisting with payroll, retirement plan and benefits accounting.
Job Duties:
- Process accounting and financial documents, including invoices, bills, expense reports, and credit card statements.
- Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
- Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and maintain accounting records.
- Post financial information to appropriate GL accounts, review accounts for accuracy and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Operate computers and accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
- Complete monthly bank and credit card account reconciliations.
- Assist with monthly close procedures, including preparing journal entries, billing out invoices, completing account reconciliations, and preparing supporting schedules.
- Scan and file electronic copies of accounting paperwork to maintain accurate records for the annual audit.
- Assist in preparation of schedules and documentation requested for year-end audit support.
- Assist other accounting team members with bi-weekly payroll, benefits paperwork, pension calculations, and pension reporting.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
